About Backyard Bookkeeper

Backyard Bookkeeper was born in April 2008 when I listened to someone complain about how long it took him to do the taxes for his business because he hadn't ever gotten around to investing in accounting software. He dreaded doing his taxes every year because it could take him up to three weeks to tally everything up by hand.

With the tools we have today, bookkeeping doesn't have to be hard at all. It's usually either a matter of setting up an effective system to keep your records organized, getting the right training, or finding the right person to get the job done effectively. I've seen many times how just a certain bit of information or a more streamlined system can solve pervasive accounting problems and cut the job in half.
